The 15th Annual WIN Dance Rally

Theme: Oldies But Goodies
Tuesday Feb. 16 through Monday Feb. 22, 2010
Pinal County Fairgrounds - Casa Grande, AZ

Join us for the 15th Annual WIN Dance Rally. After all these years, we must be doing something right. So we will keep most of the tried and true features. Our dance instructors will be Judy Arquette and Jim "Silky". Dance lessons during the day will cover Line Dancing and couples dances. In keeping with the theme "Oldies But Goodies" there will also be some of the "good old rock and roll" moves. Recorded music at night will give you a chance to practice your steps.

Saturday night’s music will be live and features the talents of Rocky Watson. Rocky is an exceptional vocalist, accomplished songwriter and talented performing artist.

There will be a talent show as part of the Friday night activities and a contest for the best singers. The winners will be part of the entertainment at the dance on Sunday night. Speaking of Sunday night’s program, the dance will be a "Senior Prom Night" so come prepared to dress up in a prom gown or tux or come casual if you like. A catered dinner will proceed the Prom.

There will be extra curricular activities during the week for those who do not participate in the dance instructions. Those participating in the instructions will be rewarded with the special 15th anniversary dance rally pin.

The rally fee is $50 ($35 for non-dancers) if paid before the end of the Quartzite Rally (January 25th deadline). After the deadline, the rally fee is $60 ($45 for non-dancers). The fairground camping site fees are seperate and are $12 per night including electric and water. Please note the rally starts on Tuesday and ends on the following Monday. There are no early sites available at the fairgounds. And there will be a $12 a night charge for those who park in the lot adjacent to the fairgrounds.

Hear Ye, Hear Ye

A WIN challenge has been proposed!! Those of us who want to lose weight can be a part of a WIN support group, on an honor system. Anyone interested can sign up via phone call or email to Dodie or Karen. Simply state your name and the amount of weight you want to lose (not your current weight). A master list will be compiled and published on the Wandering_WINs Yahoo group site so we can call each other for support when we feel weak and vulnerable. At the last two weeks of Quartzite in January in approximately 4 ½ months, we will meet, and by the honor system state how many pounds we have lost toward our goal. NO PUBLIC weights will be done. ALL WINers who reach their weight loss goal will receive a reward. The challenge will begin September 25. Anyone interested needs to notify Dodie or Karen as soon as possible so you won’t lose much time in getting started.

&
Happy New Year

NOTE FROM SHARON

In order to accommodate our Canadian members, Canadian checks or money orders, even if imprinted with "U.S. funds", can only be accepted if an additional fee of $3 is included because the WIN bank charges us $3 for processing a "foreign monetary instrument".

Advisory Council Changes

Effective immediately, Dick Burnham #1225 will replace Brad McKay #2801 on the WIN President’s Advisory Council. Remember, there is a Council meeting with the President between Christmas and New Years in Yuma. If you have any comments about any subjects, please, give them to any member of the Advisory Council before the meeting
