Getting ready for lunch in Rebecca's Restaurant.  Rebecca is a ghost that haunts the Lodge.  For more information on Rebecca and the Lodge go to their website.

After lunch and climbing four flights of stairs at 9000', a little bit of rest is needed.  The view from the tower is outstanding.  The Lodge was built in 1899.  After a fire, it was rebuilt in 1906.  Many names have been carved in the walls of the tower, including the names of Judy Garland and Clark Gable.
Looking up into the tower from our resting place.
A portion of the 360 degree view from the tower includes White Sands, 40 miles to the southwest.
Another view from the tower.  The Mescalero Apache Indian reservation is just to the north of Cloudcroft.
When the lodge was built, in 1899, the only transportation was the railroad.  All that remains today is the roadbed and a few dilapidated trestles.
Home again to Nogal.  Awaiting another day's adventure.
Our evening's entertainment!  Actually, several evenings.  Jeanne's souvenir of the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta.
